But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on” (Mark 12:41-44).

The widow gave a very small gift. Notice that Jesus was watching people give. God is interested in our gifts. The widow gave an acceptable gift, a gift that caught the attention of Jesus, even though the amount was exceedingly small. Why? Because she gave an amount that mattered to her – she gave all she had to live on! Jesus said that wherever our treasure (amount) goes, our heart follows (Matt 6:21).
